Learn Everything You Need to Know About Quentin Tarantino Behind the Camera.

By: Camden Schrickel

Hello Everyone,

My name is Camden Schrickel, and I am a film major at Washburn University. My passion is to one day become a director and write for film or television. My father has always been enthralled by Tarantino films, one of his favorites being Reservoir Dogs, so I've been exposed to them for a very long time, and they are actually some of the movies that inspired me to want to become a writer and director. The style of his movies and the incredible writing has always captivated me and made me into the movie lover that I am today. With that being said Talkin' Tarantino is gonna be a video-blog that does a deep dive into the Director Quentin Tarantino and his incredible award-winning movies. I will talk about why his movies are so highly touted, how he creates and comes up with the remarkable scripts and ideas for his movies, and maybe settle once and for all if Pulp Fiction is the greatest movie of all time. So, I ask you all to please grab a cup of your favorite gourmet coffee (none of that stuff Bonnie buys) and join me on this journey that is Talkin' Tarantino.

Why Tarantino Directs His Films in Chapters

By: Camden Schrickel                     Hey guys, welcome back to Talkin’ Tarantino and today we are going to talk about one of Quentin Tarantino’s Signature Directing Styles. The Style I'm going to go over is Non-Linear Formatting and Non-Chronological Order. Non-linear formatting and Non-Chronological Order are styles that show a story broken into different chapters almost like a novel and moved around out of chronological order but then all connected together in the final chapter of the film. The most popular example of this in his films is Pulp Fiction. Pulp Fiction revolves around 4 different stories: Honey Bunny & Pumpkin, Jules & Vince, and Butch and Fabienne, and Marcellus and Mia. A funny story my dad always tells me about when he first saw Pulp Fiction in the theater is after the Honey Bunny and Pumpkin scene in the diner in the beginning my dad and his friend turned to each other in awe of what they just saw and when he went home to tell my mom about

Tarantino's Ability to Make Memorable Characters.

By: Camden Schrickel     Hey guys, welcome back to Talkin' Tarantino and today we are going to be talking about Quentin Tarantino's remarkable ability to make well polished and memorable characters.     One staple of Tarantino's characters is his use of unconventional development. He isn't afraid to break away from traditional character arcs and instead creating a more multi-dimensional character and ones that tend to be more morally ambiguous. For example, Vincent Vega from " Pulp Fiction " or the Bride in " Kill Bill ," these characters aren't easily categorizable because they blur the lines between hero and anti-hero which then gives the viewers a chance to make their own decision on the characters morality.     Tarantino also has a knack for giving his character distinct voices. The dialogue he is able to write is sharp, witty, and filled with cultural references which helps his characters become more memorable. A couple of examples of this

By: Camden Schrickel     Hey guys, welcome back to Talkin' Tarantino and today we will be talking about Quentin Tarantino's impact on the world of cinema.           Tarantino's influence extends beyond his filmography. Emerging filmmakers cite him as a major inspiration, with many attempting to capture the essence of his style. The " Tarantinoesque " label has become a recognized term in film criticism, signifying a particular blend of bold storytelling, memorable characters, and a distinct visual aesthetic.          Tarantino's early success as an independent filmmaker paved the way for a new era of independent cinema. His rise demonstrated that filmmakers could break away from the studio system, embrace unconventional storytelling, and still find critical and commercial success. This influence continues to empower independent filmmakers to explore their unique voices and perspectives.     To recap we talked about Quentin Tarantino's impact on the worl
